Iannucci, Darlene, age 64, July 24, 2021. Beloved wife of Steve for 38 years. Dear mother of Carrie (William) Smolinski and Nicole (fiancé Kevin Gudich). Loving daughter of Evelyn and the late Bernard. Proud grandmother of Adam Smolinski, Abigail Smolinski and Alexander Gudich. Dearest sister of Myra (David) Johnson, Margaret (Bob) Lindsay, Debby (Bryan) Whittet, sister-in-law of Michelle (Bruce) McLean and the late Michael (Denise) Iannucci. Best friend and “Sister” of Cathy Bruci.
Darlene was the spark that fired up her family and friends. She was the organizer, the planner, the feast preparer. Darlene always wanted everyone close, celebrating life’s challenges and accomplishments together.
Darlene was led every day by her strong faith. God was a priority in her life and her faith never wavered. She closely followed the Father Solanus ministry and believed in generously helping those in need at every turn.
She loved something fierce. Darlene played the family doctor, the psychologist, as well as the priest and preacher in our circle. Everything she did was for those she loved among her family.
Darlene lived for her children and grandchildren, her mom, friends and her bowling partners. Whether it was the perfect gift, a daily text to show she cares, potato salad for 40, trips to appointments and treatments, pandemic supplies showing up on our doorstep, a shoulder to cry on, or a tough wake up call to get our act together. She was our rock.
In Darlene’s retirement, she supported MGM, Firekeeper, and the Michigan State Lottery.
Darlene was our Picasso, our Stratovarius, our one of a kind personality. She kept us sane, she made us crazy. She was our firecracker in a baseball hat.
Donations can be made to the Father Solanus Ministry or the Capuchin Soup Kitchens.
