Frances Torre, née Bruglio, age 86, of Washington Township, went to be with the Lord and to be reunited with her husband, Frank Torre Sr. on April 14, 2018. Frank preceded Fran in death by 46 days. Fran was born to Robert and Margaret (Jennie) Bruglio in Detroit on April 20, 1931, one of thirteen children. Fran met Frank at Detroit’s Vanity Ballroom. He pointed to Fran from across the room and told his buddies, “That’s the woman I’m going to marry.” They were married in 1952 and celebrated 65 years of marriage. Fran enjoyed her career at the former South Macomb Hospital in Warren. She worked midnights so she was able to be home for their children after school. Fran enjoyed traveling, crafting, gardening, and a good shopping trip, not necessarily in that order. Fran adopted her beloved dog, Bella, five years ago. “Poochy” as Frank called her, became an important member of the family. She deeply loved and cherished her family. Fran is survived by her children, Frank Torre Jr., Gina (Gerry) Schmidt, Margaret Torre, grandchildren, Brandon (Emmaly) Schmidt, Leah (Jeremiah) Schutt, her brother Robert Bruglio, and sister Katherine Curtis. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 22 at Bagnasco-Calcaterra Funeral Home in Sterling Heights from 2-9pm. The funeral services will take place on Monday, April 23 at St. Isadore in Macomb. Fran will lie in repose at 9:30am with Mass following at 10:00am. Fran’s final resting place will be with her husband at Great Lakes National Cemetery off of Belford Rd, also known as, PFC Frank Torre Sr Dr. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Leader Dogs for the Blind Rochester, Michigan as Fran deeply respected its mission. If donating, please make checks payable to the organization. The family is forever grateful for the unwavering support of Frank and Fran’s extended family, friends and neighbors.
