Helen Lorraine Wolski

Helen Lorraine Wolski, 90, formerly of Sterling Heights, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, January 22, 2021. She was well cared for and loved at The Brook of Gaylord.  “Lorraine” was born on July 13, 1930, in Hamtramck, MI, the daughter of Ignatz Cendrowski and Helen (Grzedziakowski) Cendrowski.

On May 5, 1951, Lorraine married Edward Walter Wolski, Jr., in Detroit, MI. Lorraine was widowed in August 1968 and tasked with raising her and Eddie’s two young sons. Lorraine’s greatest love was family. She loved being a mom, but really loved the blessings of being Busia to her grandson and great granddaughter.

Lorraine took great pride in preparing, and teaching others to prepare smaczny (tasty), traditional Polish dishes she had learned from her mother, who immigrated to the USA in 1902.  Birthday celebrations were one of her favorite events, especially her own! Mushroom picking for “stumpers” in her secret spots near Gaylord was a passion for many years. Lorraine loved to dance, especially polka, and loved family parties. 
  
Lorraine is survived by her two children, Michael (Christine) Wolski of Central Lake, Steven (Brenda) Wolski of Gaylord, her grandson Michael Wolski of Gaylord, and her great granddaughter Robin Rooyakker of Gaylord.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie, and all her siblings: Angeline Drost, Henrietta Law, Bernice Lipinski, and Edward, Daniel and Arthur Cendrowski.

Visitation at the Sterling Heights Chapel of Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 East 15 Mile Road, Friday, June 25, 2021 from 3pm until 8pm. Funeral Mass, Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 11:30am, at St. Anne Parish, 32000 Mound Road, Warren, MI, 48092.



In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Michigan or an agency closer to your heart.
