Jennie Colella (nee Mollicone), age 96, of Sterling Heights, passed away on May 30th, 2021 at her home.
Jennie was born to Onorio & Theresa Mollicone on April 13th, 1925 in Casalvieri, Italy. She immigrated to Detroit with her family when she was four years old. During World War II, Jennie worked at the Ford Rouge Plant.
She is predeceased by her husband of 59 years, William, her three siblings: Thomas Mollicone, Grace Antonelli and Ida Iannucci, and her grandson, Jason May.
Jennie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, reading, crafts and playing Bingo with her friends at Town Village. She was known for her wonderful home cooking and creativity.
She is survived by her four children: Lana Tapani (Michael Bartoy), Sam (Peggy), Theresa (Phil) May and Maryanne (Ed) Barsotti; 12 grandchildren: Chris (Sarah), Jonathan (Bernadette), David, Jim (Rochelle), Paul (Agnes), Danny, Keith (Laurel), Patrick (Jenny Lynn), Nathan (Sue), Kimberly, Eddy and Marissa and 11 great grandchildren: Lauren, Thomas, Caroline, Ethan, Daniella, Ariana, Vincenzo, Danika, William, Wyatt, and Drew.
Visitation Thursday, June 3rd, 2021 from 3pm to 9pm at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 East 15 Mile Road in Sterling Heights. Funeral Service Friday 11am at the funeral home. Entombment at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.
For those attending visitation at the funeral home, social distancing must be maintained and facial masks are required for those who are not vaccinated.
