Joseph A. Mette

Mette, Joseph A., age 86, November 9, 2019. Beloved husband of the late Nancy. Dear father of Pat Bayer (Gary Strait), Chris, Jerry (Sandy), Dan, and Paula (Tim) Gralewski. Proud grandfather of Jennifer Bayer, Jaclyn Bayer, Olivia Gralewski and Lily Gralewski. Loving brother of Florence Guralczyk and preceded in death by siblings Jean Fisher, Rose DeRouchie, Fred Mette, Fran Mette and Ann D’Arcy. Joe was loved by all who knew him, just ask one of his 35 nieces and nephews who will all say they were his favorite. He made everyone feel special and loved and enjoyed being surrounded by his family. The neighborhood kids called him Mr. Joe because they knew he could fix anything. Joe was also a member of the Sharps, a senior musical group. He played guitar and a bass of his own design – the gut bucket.
Joe’s family will welcome guests Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 12 noon until 4pm with Sharing to begin at 3pm at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 E. 15 Mile Road, Sterling Heights. All are welcome and encouraged to share about Joe’s life.
