Larry Calus, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and partner, passed away on February 8, 2024, at the age of 66. He was born on February 10, 1957, to the late Henry and Mary Calus. Larry leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that will be cherished by all who knew him.
A dedicated father, Larry is survived by his children, Kimberly and Kenneth, and his grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Thomaz, Jerod, Cash, Clementine, and Jameson. He was a pillar of support and encouragement in their lives, always there with a helping hand and a warm smile.
Larry was the beloved brother of Edward and Dennis, and his presence brought joy and camaraderie to their lives. He was a cherished boyfriend to Jennifer Mernatti, sharing a bond built on love and companionship.
Throughout his life, Larry was passionate about athletics. Not only playing the sports but teaching them as well. He spent years coaching the St. Clair Shores city little league football team, where he imparted not only his knowledge of the game but also valuable life lessons to countless young athletes. His dedication and mentorship left an indelible mark on the community.
In his leisure time, Larry found solace in the tranquility of fishing. Whether casting a line into a serene lake or sharing stories with friends by the water's edge, he found joy in the sport he so cherished.
Larry was known for his infectious sense of humor, which could brighten even the darkest of days. His laughter was contagious, and his quick wit brought smiles to the faces of those around him.
Above all, Larry will be remembered for his generosity, compassion, and thoughtfulness. He had a heart of gold, always willing to lend a helping hand and offer words of encouragement to those in need. His kindness touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.
In honoring Larry's memory, let us celebrate the life he lived and the love he shared. Though he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home in St. Clair Shores, Michigan from 2:00pm until 8:00pm with a service at 7:00pm.
