December 3, 1930 ~ December 26, 2019 (age 89) 89 Years Old

Tribute

Mary Margaret Kreft was born to Floyd and Lois Fern (Little) Gravlin, in the village of Birmingham Michigan on December 3, 1930; she was the 6th of 9 children. Mary graduated from Baldwin High School in Birmingham Michigan in 1948. She met the love of her life and best friend John, (Jack) at the age of 14 while roller skating. They were married on October 23, 1948. Together they raised 8 children: Gregory, Lynda (Mark) Pustelak, Ann (Larry) Waller, Denise Kreft, Katharine Kreft, Joanne (Jeff) Kulka, Teresa (Scott) Telly, Anita (Mark) Sirowatka. Completing the family are 15 grandchildren and one great grandson. They were fortunate enough to spend 71 beautiful years together. Their relationship was often referred to as, " An epic love story."

Mary's passion was her family. She devoted her time to each and every one of them and treasured the moments spent with both family and friends. She especially enjoyed the holidays, with the Christmas season being her favorite. Every year she decorated two beautiful trees;  one was full of Swarovski ornaments, it sparkled like nothing you've ever seen before. The other tree was full of Hallmark ornaments, each one had personal meaning and a story to tell. Mary loved her backyard, her rose garden, playing cards, dancing and traveling. One of her favorite destinations was Little Traverse Bay. She was well known for her baking and culinary skills. Her pies, cakes, and fudge were revered by all that had the pleasure of sampling them.

Mary was a quiet women but she had a sense of determination and adventure that made her a joy to be around. She is described by many as being a beautiful soul on both the inside and out. She greeted others with a contagious smile, making you feel at ease and welcome.

Mary Margaret Kreft was called home to Christ on December 26, 2019. Though it will be impossible to fill the void that was left when she passed, we pray that she is at peace.  We were extremely blessed to have been given the privilege of being a part of her family and she will be forever in our hearts.
