Tribute

Mastronardi, Rosalie (nee Simone), age 77, passed away on October 25, 2020 surrounded by her family after a tough battle with cancer. Beloved wife of Umberto “Bert” for 52 years. Loving mother of Albert (Sarahanne) Mastronardi, Ronald (Sandra) Mastronardi and James (Michelle) Mastronardi. Proud grandmother of Anthony, Jack, Maria, Sophia, Daunté , Brooke, Luke, Andrew and Eva. Dear sister of Frank (Angela) Simone, Regina (Phil) Shibley, the late Vera (the late Frank) Bizzocchi and the late George Simone. Sister in law of Vincenzo (Filomena) Mastronardi, Argentina (Pat) Amicone, Enrico (Ester) Mastronardi, Perry (Theresa) Mastronardi, the late Constantino (Concetta) Mastronardi, the late Raffaele (the late Ida) Mastronardi and the late Lina Mastronardi. Rosalie was an avid member of the Bariscianotti Club.

Rose “Rosie” was born in Detroit and was the third of five children. She attended Harper Woods High School where, in addition to academic excellence, she was involved in field hockey and softball. In 1967, she attended a dance at the Caboto Club in Windsor, Ontario where she met Bert and as they say, the rest is history. In 1968, Rose and Bert were married and lived in Toronto, Ontario for a little over a year. In 1970 they moved to Michigan and raised their three sons in the City of Warren. First and foremost, family and friends were the center of what she lived for daily. She supported and cared for everyone as though they were family. Her kindness, warmth, and values were present in everything she did and with everyone she met. Food, family, and tradition made every Thanksgiving holiday she hosted special - the door was always open to everyone.

Rose encouraged a close relationship with Bert’s family in Leamington, Ontario, helping to bring everyone together through family gatherings and trips to the Windsor Casino. She also prioritized helping her late sister Vera (and the late Frank) as a bookkeeper at Four Seasons Concrete in Roseville, Michigan for nearly 50 years.

Rose’s love for children, family, and friends was evident in her role as membership secretary of the Bariscianotti Club. She volunteered her time to help organize club events such as the Children’s Christmas Party and Summer Picnic, alongside her family and longtime committee member friends.

Although she will be missed, her legacy will live on through the love she gave and traditions she instilled upon her children and grandchildren.
