Valentine M. Dickerson

Valentine M. Dickerson, age 72, of Clinton Township, Michigan passed away peacefully, Saturday, July 18, 2020 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.  She was born on February 14, 1948 to Wilbert and Virginia Irvin (née Perzyk).

Valentine grew up in Detroit, Michigan and served in the United States Air Force. She went on to be Vice President at First Federal of Michigan and then to Proctor Financial where she retired in 2017 as their Senior Vice President of Compliance after over 20 years.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Dickerson, daughter-in-law, Kelly Dickerson, her beloved grandchildren Berlin Dickerson and Hayden Dickerson and the love of her life Robert (Bob) Gallmore, retired Fire Chief of Detroit.  Valentine and Bob spent over 25 years together making his two daughters and their families hers as well.  She also leaves behind her dear friend Sandra Boni and several adored friends.

Valentine enjoyed picnic’s at Stoney Creek with Bob, trips to the Casino and summer trips to Gun Lake with their families.  She also loved to create fairy gardens and to give them to those she loved.  She will be remembered by all who knew her as a genuine, kind and giving person who loved her family fiercely.

A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, August 1, 2020 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm with service at 1:00 pm at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 E. 15 Mile Road in Sterling Heights.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are appreciated to the Share a Smile organization.

Due to the current health conditions facial masks must be worn with a limited amount of people to attend visitation and funeral.
