William "Harry" Andary

Andary, William M. “Harry,” age 87, April 15, 2019. Beloved husband of Maria for 64 years. Dear father of Cynthia Andary, Steven (Fiancé Judy) and Harry (Lisa). Loving grandfather of Guilia, Steven (Annie), Jamie (Kristein), Erica, Michael, Shayna, Jacob, Jeremy (Amanda), Jacob and Leah. Proud great grandfather of Aidan, Izzy, Jaxson, Ellie, Karter and Georgia Fay. Survived by siblings Fred, Francis, Pete, Paul and Pauline.
Harry was born in Detroit on January 21, 1932 to Mansour and Maria Andary. He attended St. Catherine’s where he played football and met the love of his life, Maria Coscia. The two met at the footballs games that Harry played in and would go to the ice cream parlor afterwards. Following high school, he joined the Army instead of playing professional football and was shot twice during the Korean War. When he returned from war, he and Maria were wed on April 16, 1955 at St. Margaret Mary in Detroit with over 500 guests in attendance. The two build their first and only family home in 1958 in St. Clair Shores where they raised their family and live to this day. With Cynthia already being a few years old, they welcomed Steven and Harry to the home. Harry worked to support his family. As a tile setter he worked hard and around the country, from Utah, to Las Vegas. In Vegas, he and his son Steven tiled the homes of Liberace and Wayne Newton, as well as Caesars Palace. When he wasn’t at work, Harry loved the racetrack and casinos and was known by his friends as Dirty Shoes. He will be lovingly remember by his children as a hardworking man with a heart of gold who would give you the shirt off his back.
Visitation Friday, April 19 from 2pm to 8pm and Saturday 9am until time of Service 10am at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 E. 15 Mile Road, Sterling Heights. Entombment at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, Clinton Township.
